Mushroom Meat Lovers Pizza
Adjust amounts for as many pizzas as you are preparing… below is for 1 pizza:
- dough from Pizzeria Vetri
- 1/2 cup Wegman’s Mild Italian Sausage, cooked
- 4 oz Wegman’s Prosciutto
- 4 oz Wegman’s Burrata cheese
- 1/4 cup baby bella mushrooms, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp green onion, thinly sliced
- pesto oil
- finely grated parmesan cheese
Step one: skip the hassle and buy your dough from Pizzeria Vetri – our favorite! Next preheat your oven to 500 degrees. Then cook sausage in sauté pan over medium-high heat until browned, about 5 minutes, breaking up links (to spread across dough later) and turning often. Crisp prosciutto in large pan with 2 tbsp olive oil on medium heat as you would bacon. Set aside.
Now for the fun part… stretch dough into a pizza pan using your fingers. Brush dough with olive oil, especially the edges (this will help create crispy crust!). Sprinkle with parmesan cheese then begin to layer the toppings… layer with 2 tbsp cooked mild Italian sausage and 2 tbsp crisp prosciutto. Evenly spoon on tiny dollops of Burrata cheese. Layer thinly sliced mushrooms and sliced green onion. Sprinkle with another layer of parmesan cheese. Drizzle with pesto oil. Bake for 8-9 minutes. Slice and enjoy!
