Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb chicken wings
  • vegetable oil for fryer
  • green onion for garnish
  • sesame seeds for garnish
  • 2 tsp salt (to boiling water)
  • salt for taste

Chili Citrus Sticky Sauce

  • 6 tbsp white sugar
  • 4 tsp soy sauce
  • 4 tbsp orange juice
  • 6 tbsp rice wine vinegar
  • 2 tbsp Gochujang Korean Chili Sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tsp Laoganma Spicy Chili Crisp
  • 1 large clove minced garlic
  • 1 1/2 tsp orange zest

Instructions

First prepare your Chili Citrus Sticky Sauce by adding sugar, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar and OJ to small saucepan on medium and dissolve sugar and reduce until it coats the back of a spoon, approximately 7-9 minutes. Then add hoisin sauce, spicy chili crisp, sesame oil, chili sauce and whisk until thoroughly combined. Add garlic clove and orange zest. If your sauce gets too thick, you can thin it with additional OJ. Set aside.

Next add wings, salt and water to large stock pot. Bring to boil and boil for 15-20 minutes and remove from heat and drain off excess water and place on a cooling rack. Allow wings to dry.

Fry the wings in batches in oil heated to 375 degrees until they become a golden brown color and drain well before serving. Sprinkle with salt and toss in sauce. Garnish with slices of green onion and sesame seeds and enjoy!
