Sesame Seared Tuna with Jalapeño Ponzu Sauce
- 1 lb tuna
- 1 tbsp of sesame oil
- 2 tbsp un-toasted sesame seeds
- Ponzu Sauce
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp green onion, chopped
- 2 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp lemon
- 1 tsp minced jalapeno
First rub tuna steaks with sesame oil and salt generously. Coat with sesame seeds. Set aside. Then make your sauce by combining all ingredients above. Heat 1 tsp of vegetable oil in cast iron pan medium-high to high. Sear on each side for 2-2 1/2 minutes for rare, 3-4 minute for medium. Remove from heat and slice. Garnish with minced jalapeño and green onion. Serve with sauce. Enjoy!
