Caramelized Onion Bacon Blue Cheese Spread
Ingredients
- 1, 8oz package Philadelphia cream cheese
- 1 lb bacon
- 3-4 oz blue cheese
- 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- 2 cups sweet onion (medium diced)
- 3 tbsp freshly chopped parsley
- 1/3 cup crispy fried onions
- 1 tsp salt
Instructions
Crisp bacon and reserve 4 tbsp bacon fat in pan. Remove bacon. Then add two cups of diced onions and salt to pan and cook on low until deep golden brown and tender. Chop bacon and add to mixing bowl with blue cheese, cream cheese, parsley, onions, and black pepper. Mix with hand mixer on high until combined. Spread into shallow baking dish and top with crispy fried onions. Bake at 300 degrees until onions have browned appropriately 30 minutes. Serve on warm bread and enjoy!
